The good weather in the UK this week also brings forth some good news. From Monday next week, 1 June, UK Visas and Immigration will be resuming some services in a number of Visa Application Centres across the world. The precise cities where the centres will open are: Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney (Australia); Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai (China); Suva (Fiji); Hong Kong; Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia); Taipei (Taiwan); Bangkok (Thailand).
Customers who were unable to attend an earlier appointment will be able to log into their account to book a new appointment. Customers who have completed their application on GOV.UK, but didn’t previously book an appointment at the Visa Application Centre, can also do so.
Client safety will remain their priority, so customers visiting the Visa Application Centres may be asked to observe social distancing, undergo temperature checks or be required to wear facemasks/gloves, subject to local authority guidelines.
Customers exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, including fever (higher than 38 degrees Celsius), cough or difficulty breathing will be helped to reschedule their application submission for another day and will be advised to seek medical attention at the nearest healthcare facility of their choice.
Please also be aware, that due to restrictions still in place globally, they are currently able to offer the following services: Super Priority Visa, Priority Visa Service (visit) or Priority Visa for settlement or migration Service. This is still good news though as it means that applications can be progressed where they were previously held up due to lack of ability to obtain a biometrics appointment.
It is likely that other countries will follow suit. All updates will be available using this link.
